Spotted via Dezeen, a clever idea for recycling construction site materials to make a step stool planter. Workers built a collection of pieces, including this one, using materials found on site at Brazilian architect Marcio Kogan's projects. On exhibit at London’s Gallery Fumi, it's an idea you could recreate with a few easily sourced components:

Wood Step Stools

Above: The planter was part of a larger collection produced in collaboration with Italian architects Manuela Verga and Paolo Boatt. To see the other pieces, including tables, stools, shelves, see Dezeen.

Above: To create the same look, use a two-sided stepladder, such as the Michigan Ladder Twin Front Step Ladder (L); it's $41.71 from Industrial Ladder. For a Flat Metal Shelf, contact Pipp for information and prices. An Oradd Plant Pot (R) is 49 cents from Ikea.

Organic Tuscan Blue Rosemary

Above: For a selection of similar potted herbs, consider Organic Tuscan Blue Rosemary , Organic Berggarten Sage, and Organic Lemon Thyme; $9.95 apiece from Williams Sonoma Agrarian.
