Every year, the final haul of winter feels like eternity. We're ready to skip ahead to spring (you, too?). Join us, then, by entering our "Think Spring" contest on Facebook.
Share your favorite image of spring with us on Gardenista's Facebook page for a chance to win a pack of elegant Farm to Table note cards by Bay Area-based printmaker and illustrator Rigel Stuhmiller.
Here's how to enter the contest:
- "Like" Gardenista on Facebook.
- Post a photo of spring that you love (budding trees, melting snow, farmers' markets, the first tulip...) by 6 pm PST, Friday, February 22.
- Encourage all of your friends to go to Gardenista's Facebook page to like your photo.
The Gardenista editors will look at all the images; the two with the most "likes" will win.
For inspiration, here are a few spring images that speak to us (and, at the moment, warm us up):
Above: 'Frances Willard' is a peony named for a social reformer who urged women to "do everything." It dates to 1907; photograph by Mbgna via Flickr.
Above: An allee of PeeGee hydrangea standards bordered by a privet hedge in the Connecticut garden of Michael Leva.
Above: This romantic late spring picnic styled by Nikole Herriott has us yearning to grab our baskets and dine on the grass. Photo by Nikole Herriott.
Above: Mysterious Passion Blend tulips. Image by Tony Basilio, via Flickr.
Above: The two winners will each win an eight-pack of Rigel Stuhmiller's hand drawn Farm to Table note cards. Visit her Etsy shop to see all of her designs.
If you're eager to get a head start on spring, why not update a room with some vibrant botanica -inspired wallpaper? Or have you ever considered making your own eau de cologne that smells of the season?
