We flew to the East Coast this week and learned that sometimes the weather is better in New York City than in California. Seriously. It was so spring-like that Midtown office workers got giddy, walking around in sleeveless and strapless and flip-floppy renditions of their normal attire. We saw short shorts—and thought: What wish can't come true in April?
Above: Mother in law's tongue, we hardly knew ye; designer Michael Anastassiades' collection was inspired by Josef Frank designs. To replicate: Rinse off the roots of house plants, plop in glass vases and suspend from ceiling with wire. Photograph via Elle Decor.
We were going to be nonchalant...but cannot hold it in any longer. Gardenista has been nominated for a Webby Award, the equivalent of an Oscar nomination on the Internet (OMG, OMG, air cartwheels, uncontrollable jazz hands). OK, we're an underdog (sitting on hands to try to calm down). Help us win by voting at Webby Awards.
Above: Isabelle Palmer, aka The Balcony Gardener, revealed all her secrets in an exclusive interview on DesignSponge; time to turn your tiny cramped balcony into a Lush Balcony Garden.
Allergy season? Our own Erin Boyle has discovered an all natural remedy—Nettle Tea—which also reminded us how easy it is to make DIY Bug Repellent (well, easy if you're Alexa—she can pretty much Make Anything).
Chalk up another win for natural remedies. Bean plant leaves Kill Bedbugs.
'Tis the season for 66 Quick Bathroom Fixes (hint: a House Plant You Can't Kill is one answer).
The next wave of McMansions: McGarages. They're getting pretty Big For Their Britches; time for a cleanout?
Why isn't it simpler to find a simple wood outdoor table? Don't despair; we have 10 For You.
Above: Don't forget: we're giving away an amazing Freestanding Vertical Garden with a value of $400 from Williams-Sonoma Agrarian's new spring catalog. Enter The Contest by Sunday at 6 pm EST.
